What happens when someone sends a message about my listing?
Your listing has a Send a message button. The person fills in their name, email address and phone number, and can add a message.
You then get an email from Rentingwell, titled Viewing request for your property and unit. It goes to the email address on the listing (or your account's email if the listing doesn't have one), and it has their details, their message and a link to the listing.
To answer, reply to that email or use the Reply to button in it. Your reply goes straight to them.
A few things to know:
- Every message is also kept in Rentingwell. Open the unit's Listing page and scroll to Messages, or look for the message count on the Listings page. Messages are kept for a year.
- Spam is filtered. The form checks that a person is sending it, and limits how many messages can be sent.
- Change where messages go by editing the listing's email address on the unit's Listing page.
- Avoid scams. The form reminds people to meet in person and see the place before they pay anything. It's good advice for landlords too: meet before you hand over keys.
